Startups and web services we use at ManageWP

2963474098 f64ecc6e3c m Startups and web services we use at ManageWPDuring the development of our startup, ManageWP, I started using a lot of tools made by other startups.

Thought I’d share some of them.

Newrelic is absolutely brilliant piece of software which tells you what is happening with your application. You can use it for profiling, diagnostics and statistics for your web app.

We started using Sendgrid to send our emails. The service appears to be useful but there is one problem. Absolutely dreadful support. They also do not seem to handle manual spam verification which is one of the reasons I went for external SMTP.

For support we still use Gmail ๐Ÿ™‚ But I hope we will soon switch to Assistly, and would have already if it was a bit easier to setup. One thing startups don’t have is free time.

When I am talking about Gmail, I need to mention Rapportive. If you use Gmail for business you will worship this tool.

Plimus is hardly a startup in payment processing services and we use them because they are great guys and also because we got a really good deal with them as a result of us creating Plimus for WordPress plugin.

Incapsula is one of the services that shines when support is in question. We also plan to integrate their service into ManageWP so all our users get an automatic security layer over their sites.

We use Google Analytics for conversion tracking. Tried some paid alternatives, but wasn’t too excited. Now when GA supports real time and first touch analytics, there is very little left to be desired from this tool.

Interestingly I could not find a good tool to handle CRM in a simple and elegant manner and I tried a whole bunch of them. Is there a room for another one, start-up oriented, perhaps?

And similarly after trying a whole bunch of user feedback tools, we decided to use Google Moderator for our user’s ideas. It’s free, simple and it works.

Any other cool startup services you know of? Share your thoughts in the comments.
